BIRTH OF A PIONEERING HOSPITAL PROJECT
Hospital San Jaime was founded thanks to the joint initiative of a group of investors committed to promoting a landmark healthcare project. The share capital was distributed evenly among various stakeholders from the business, insurance, and diagnostic imaging sectors. This collaboration made it possible to consolidate a strong and diverse foundation that, from its inception, has guided the hospital’s development toward excellence in care, innovation, and continuous improvement of the patient experience.

Founded in 2000, the Quirónsalud Torrevieja Oncology Platform positioned itself from the outset as a national benchmark in comprehensive cancer treatment, committing to an innovative, patient-centered model. ADVANCED AND PIONEERING ONCOLOGICAL SURGERY IN THE PERITONEUM AND LIVER
The Oncology Platform has been a pioneer in the treatment of malignant diseases of the peritoneum using advanced radical cytoreduction techniques combined with HIPEC (hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy), following the Sugarbaker protocol, which has enabled it to offer highly complex therapeutic options with excellent results.
In addition, it has actively participated in the consolidation of research and development in this discipline as co-founder of the Spanish Peritoneal Oncology Surgery Group (GECOP), helping to position this approach as a benchmark standard nationally and internationally.
Similarly, it has established an outstanding track record in advanced hepatobiliary-pancreatic surgery, applying highly complex surgical techniques in the treatment of liver, biliary, and pancreatic tumors, with a multidisciplinary and personalized approach.

This process followed the previous operation through which Quirónsalud had integrated IDC Salud in 2015, strengthening its leadership and forming the largest private hospital group in the country, with a model of excellence in healthcare and a strong international presence.
